YouTubeでの配信ですので、チャンネルURLからぜひご視聴ください。
2025年12月6日（土）午前10時 ～ 7日（日）午前10時まで、24時間のライブ配信 を行います。
八丈島からの太鼓映像はもちろん、トークコーナーや、世界各地の八丈太鼓愛好家団体とのZOOMによる「八丈島とカンパーイ！」コーナーなど、楽しいコンテンツが盛りだくさんです！
配信会社は、八丈島と縁のある宇喜多秀家の故郷・岡山県のOMSが担当いたします。
今回は、先日の八丈島を襲った台風被害もあり、復興支援を兼ねたイベントとして開催が決まりました。
インターネット支援サイトも立ち上げていますので、皆様のご支援をよろしくお願いいたします。

We will once again livestream the 24-Hour Hachijo Taiko Challenge.
Please join us on YouTube through the channel URL.
The livestream will run for 24 hours from 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 6 to 10:00 AM on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
In addition to live Taiko performances from Hachijojima, we will feature talk sessions and a special “Cheers from Hachijojima!” segment connecting with Hachijo Taiko groups around the world via Zoom. Enjoy a wide variety of exciting content throughout the event!
The livestream production will be handled by OMS, a company based in Okayama—the hometown of Hideie Ukita, who shares a historical connection with Hachijojima.
This year’s event also serves as a disaster recovery fundraiser, following the recent typhoon damage on Hachijojima.

今回で第16回を迎える「24時間チャレンジ八丈太鼓」は、
八丈島の観光産業の災害復興を目的としたイベントとして開催いたします。
まだインフラや施設、住居の復旧には時間を要しますが、
次の八丈島の未来を見据えたとき、観光産業を立ち上げていくことこそが
島全体の復興への大きな一歩になると考えております。
誰もが自由に即興で叩ける八丈太鼓の文化は、人と人を自然に集め、
寄り添いながら心を通わせる力を持っています。
この即興太鼓は、島外からの参加者にも支えられ、
多くの人々にその魅力が広がり続けています。
イベントは午前10時に始まり、翌朝10時までの24時間、
参加者が交代で叩き続け、1,000回以上のリレーによって
太鼓の音が途切れることなく響き渡ります。
また、別会場ではワークショップや多彩な企画も行われ、
地域と島外が一体となって盛り上がる催しへと発展しています。

We are holding the 16th ‘24-Hour Challenge Hachijo Taiko’ to support Hachijo Island’s recovery and help revive its tourism following recent disasters.
While the restoration of infrastructure, facilities, and housing will take time, we believe that rebuilding the tourism industry is a vital step toward the overall recovery of Hachijo Island and its future development.
The culture of Hachijo Taiko, where anyone can freely play and improvise, holds a unique power to bring people together and foster deep connections through its rhythm.
Hachijo Taiko has been widely appreciated by people from outside the island and its popularity continues to grow.
The event begins at 10 a.m. and continues for 24 hours until 10 a.m. the following morning.
Participants take turns playing in shifts, and through more than 1,000 relays, the sound of the taiko resonates without interruption.
Also, workshops and various other programs are held at separate venues, and the event has grown into an occasion that brings the local community and visitors from outside the island together.
We warmly invite everyone to join in playing the taiko and experience its vibrant beat alongside us.

その一方で、この状況だからこそ、私たちは「立ち止まらず、前へ進むこと」を選びました。
第16回 24時間チャレンジ八丈太鼓を予定通り開催することは、単なるイベント再開ではなく、島の未来に向けた「再起の狼煙（のろし）」だと考えています。
八丈島が復興を遂げるためには、島外とのつながりを積極的に築き直すことが欠かせません。
そのつながりは日本国内だけにとどまらず、世界中の太鼓ファンへも広がっています。
八丈太鼓の自由で即興的なスタイルは、近年海外でも高く注目され、国外からこのイベントを目当てに来島される方も増えてきました。
閉ざすのではなく、島外・海外へと心を開き、交流の輪を再び広げていくことこそが、観光産業を甦らせ、地域の復興を加速させる大きな原動力となります。
八丈太鼓は、人と人を自然に結びつけ、心を鼓舞し、前を向かせてくれる力を持っています。
困難な時にこそ、この「響き」は希望へと変わり、島の文化の強さを示す象徴になります。
今の八丈島に必要なのは、まさにその力です。
“復興の最中だからこそ開催すべきイベント”として、今年の開催には特別な意義があります。

島の皆さまにとっては「勇気と連帯の音」に、
日本全国、そして世界から来てくださる太鼓ファンの皆さまにとっては「八丈島と共に歩む音」になることを願っております。

本イベントは、八丈島の伝統芸能「八丈太鼓」を通じて、島内外の人々が音楽でつながり、文化を継承していくことを目的に毎年開催してまいりました。しかしながら、先日の台風により関係者の一部が被災し、使用する会場にも被害が出ております。
それでも、八丈太鼓の響きで、島の復興と元気を取り戻したい――
そんな思いから、今年も「24時間チャレンジ八丈太鼓」を開催したいと考えています。
つきましては、イベントの開催費用および被災関係者の支援を目的とした「復興支援金」へのご協力をお願い申し上げます。

The 24-Hour Challenge Hachijo Taiko is held each year to celebrate and carry forward Hachijojima’s treasured traditional art, Hachijo Taiko, while connecting people through music both on and beyond the island.
However, the recent typhoons have caused damage to the island, including to some of the people and facilities involved in the event.
After many discussions and careful consideration, the organizing committee has decided to move forward with this year’s event as part of ongoing efforts to revitalize tourism.
We kindly invite you to support this year’s event through our crowdfunding campaign.

このたび八丈島は、台風22号および23号の影響により、家屋の損壊やライフラインの途絶など、多くの被害を受けました。幸いにも人的被害はなく安堵しておりますが、現在も避難所で生活されている方々や、電気・水道が復旧していないご家庭がございます。
12月6日・7日のイベント開催に向けて、私たちは準備や会議を進める予定でしたが、現時点ではスケジュールが不透明であり、状況に応じて調整が必要になる可能性がございます。

Challenge.”Recently, Hachijo Island suffered significant damage due to Typhoons No. 22 and No. 23, including destruction of houses and disruption of lifelines. Fortunately, there were no casualties, which is a great relief. However, some residents are still staying in evacuation centers, and certain households remain without electricity or running water.
We had planned to proceed with preparations and meetings for the event scheduled on December 6–7, but at this time, the situation remains uncertain, and adjustments may be necessary depending on future developments.We will continue to share updates through our official website and social media channels, so we would greatly appreciate it if you could check them regularly.Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.
